Deception Pass Destination Run

We'll meet at the South Everett Park and Ride at 7, or at the park at 8, for ~ 22 miles on the trails. Run time should be around 4 - 5 hours, but you can go shorter (or longer) if you want because there will be a lot of crisscrossing trails. We'll be running on a lot of the trails that the Deception Pass 25k/50k will traverse, so this is a great chance to scope out the lay of the land if you're planning on doing that race.

Discover Pass is required in each car. Park at the lot west of the Lower Loop Campground, near North Beach. Here's a map: http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/thumbnailAndmaps/5250043.pdf

Here's a course map that is difficult to read, but you get the idea.

Thank you, Tho, for leading this event!

We ended going off-course quite a few times, but it was still a lot fun. About 13.2 miles (with 2644 feet of climb).

Hi Beth. Our plan is to run most of the 25K route. If people are feeling good they are welcome to run the 50K preview.

The Google maps link above seems to be inaccurate. The address for the Deception Pass is:

41229 State Route 20, Oak Harbor, WA 98277

-- There should be signs pointing to the West Beach Parking lot once you enter the park.

Just a reminder, we'll be meeting at the South Everett Park and Ride at 7AM. If you plan on meeting the group at the park, we will at the park at about 8AM.

West Beach parking - Deception Pass State Park (Discover Pass is required)

Here's my phone number in case anyone is running late to the PNR or to the park. Tho:[masked]

    See you guys on Sunday.

I'm up for ~20 miles. I'm eagerly awaiting my first look at parts of the 50K course I'll be running in a month. Will meet you all at the trailhead.

Its a fun course...rooty and rocky with slippery bridges. I'll be running 18-20.. drive that far and you might as well run long.

Hi Everyone. The plan is to cover most of the 25K route, which is about 14 miles or so. If people are still feeling good, we can head down the road and run a loop of Hoypus Point. 50Kers will have to do this loop twice on race day. It will be a very casual pace, so don't worry about the running pace. And you don't have to be running the race in order to come out and join us either.

Hey, I might have to cancel this run- my sister is literally due to give birth any day this week to her 2nd child, so I might need to pitch in with babysitting her kids.

I'll only be running about 9 or 10 miles

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
