Mt Rainier ( Paradise to Camp Muir)

Hi Everyone,

Mt Rainier is shaping up with some good conditions. Late notice but I want to take advantage of the weather to do a Paradise to Camp Muir Run/ power hike. Either meet at the Balanced Athlete in Renton 7 AM or at Paradise Info center at 9:30 AM. We will be back to Seattle approximately 4 PM. 4 miles to Muir, 5,000 feet of elevation gain to 10,000 feet. Minimal cost to get into National park per car.

What to bring

Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Shell, light jacket, hat, gloves or mittens, poles ( optional), iodine or water filter ( fill up at pebble creek), 2 water bottles, 800 calories. Map( can be obtained at visitor's center) and compass.

For those who want to go to Disappointment Cleaver bring: Ice ax, helmet, rope, harness, and crampons. Add up to 2 hours.

You are responsible for your own safety.
