Charlene Rose is among the likes of great talent in the salsa world. She has performed and given workshops internationally, and with some of the most world renowned Salseros including Rogelio Moreno, Alex da Silva, Alfonso Caldera, David Nieto, and Francisco Vazquez.
Charlene?s first love as far as dancing goes was ballet, in which she began her training at about 8 years old. At 18, she decided to continue pursuing her passion at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA where she majored in dance and musical theater. It was during her tenure at Cornish that Charlene was exposed to the Latin dances, and she fell in love instantly.
Charlene was inspired to take her salsa career to the next level when she realized the height to which salsa could be taken, after seeing videos online of the Mayan Salsa Competition, and also the West Coast Salsa Congress.
Some of her accomplishments in salsa include:
- First Place 2009 Top L.A. Salsera Competition
- First Place 2008 Mayan World Salsa Championships
- 3rd Place 2007 ESPN World Salsa Championships On 1
- Appeared on FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance", and was featured in US Weekly, OK Weekly, and Variety Magazines for her participation on the show.
- Appeared on NBC's "America's Got Talent"
