Description: I know this is short notice ... but the Duwamish River festival is this weekend. I thought we could launch at Herring's house park at around noon and paddle down to the Festival at the Duwamish Waterway Park,[masked]th Ave S, and participate. They are having free lunch (first 700 so we probably will pack our own) and see what's going on - and help support the waterway cleanup.
Details: We will meet at 11:30 and launch at Herring park. The tide is on the way up so we shouldn't have too much muck to launch through but bring your muck boots in case. On the good side, the tide will be up when we get back so ... NO Muck then :) It is only 2.5 miles down so we will have plenty of time to paddle around and take our time there and back.

Parking/Restroom Information: There is couple small parking lots at the park but no restrooms. No charge to park. There wasn't a rest room at the Duwamish Waterway park but I'll bet they are providing them since it is a festival...
SK Rating: Sea Kayak Trip Ratings I am rating this a class 1 paddle. There will be little current and the wind would be our only problem - along with dodging waterway traffic...
Equipment Requirements: Kayak, paddle, pfd, paddlefloat, pump, sprayskirt, headlamp, charts, navigation gear (compass/gps/??)vhf radio (edit as needed). Bring sunscreen, water, and I would bring a lunch.... just in case we are not the first 700 :)
