Description: ... Let's spend the afternoon and early evening at the Nisqually Delta Wildlife Refuge. I haven't been to the actual Refuge so we will start there, do some hiking, and then launch our boats as the tide starts to come back in.
Details: .... We will meet at the Refuge parking lot at 1:00 and take a look around. There is a program "Our Amazing Plant World " that starts at 1 and goes till 2:30 that you may want to join. Go to the Nisqually site at http://www.fws.gov/nwrs/threecolumn.aspx?id=2147491884 to read about it. We will plan on leaving the Refuge around 3 pm and heading over to the launch site at 4998 NE Dmilluhr Road. We will launch into the incomingtide and head over for a 3 - 4 hour paddle around the delta. Around 6 pm we will find a place to stop, spread out some tarps, and have a dinner picnic.
Parking/Restroom Information: .... There is ample parking and restrooms at the Refuge. There is parking and a vault toilet at the launch site on NE Dmilluhr road. No passes are needed to park there.
Dinner : I will pick up an appropriate amount of roasted chicken for the picnic. If someone could make or pickup some potato salad and maybe another type of salad, someone could pick up some rolls, and someone pickup some apple or cherry pie for desert. Everyone brig a few dollars to donate to the providers. I don't want anyone to have to spend any time cooking for this paddle....

IMPORTANT - If you have not filled out your profile information in the Sea Kayak Meetup information please do so. We need this to be assured that the group is competent to meet the challenges of this paddle. For safety reasons we will not accept anyone whose profile information does not assure us that they have the necessary skills. Failure to have a completely filled out profile can cause you to be dropped from the paddle.
AND AS USUAL - All my paddles are one strike you're out... I will monitor the site up to 3 hours before we launch for cancellations. (for this paddle the cut off will be Wednesday before the paddle unless an emergency happens) But if we launch and I haven't heard from you that is a no show and you will no longer be welcome on my trips. Please don't sign up unless you really think you can attend. It isn't fair for the other paddlers. As usual, I will manage the trip numbers based on extra organizers and the paddle experience of the people who sign up. So jump on the waiting list because I frequently up the attendees. Thanks.
