Saturday 3/15 - Kenmore Paddle for those that need to borrow

Description: We will paddle at the north end of Lake Washington

It's Spring, the weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday , it's time for a paddle, this will be my first daylight paddle of 2014, I went out on a  night with my still broken arm back in January, this looks to be much more enjoyable.

As discussed earlier with the cost of maintaining the gear, I am starting to post events separated into the ones where people borrow gear (I'll charge $10 for those) and ones where people have their own gear (those will remain free).

Lets meet for a  paddle on Lake Washington and the slough. This trip will depend on the weather. We’ll meet at Logboom Park  at 12:30pm for a 60-90 minute afternoon paddle.

This trip is for those that need to borrow, if you have your own kayak, sign up in the other paddle.

The water is fairly cold this time of year and it's frequently windy, our launch and route is fairly sheltered but we still need to use our heads and our equipment. . If you are signing up in this meetup, I am assuming that you need to borrow a kayak, if you have your own, then sign up in the other event.

Rating: This trip is rated ‘protected’ or SK1. A wet suit or dry suit is advised.

What to bring: [*]Kayak, paddle, Paddle Float and Bilge Pump. [*]PFD,

Clothes for paddling, something that will keep you warm if damp, Kayak Shoes, [*]Change of clothes for after, towel. [*]Rain Hat [*][*]Perhaps a power bar or dried figs to munch on. [*]Sense of Humor and fun.

Hi, I have been following the Kayak group for a while now, but not yet participated. I have only kayaked a handful of times but am interested in more. I signed up for a class through Seattle Parks and rec to learn a bit more, but it's not until May. The sun is making me antsy. Can I jump in on this one? If so could I borrow a life vest as well as other obvious gear?

Also the title of this event says Saturday, but in the body of the description it says "It is supposed to be nice Sunday" also this link
    Need to borrow is at:
http://www.meetup.com/Seattle-Sea-Kayaking/events/170628962/ takes to an old event, is that intentional? Let me know, and if so if there is anything else I could bring (food for everyone? etc.)

    Thank You,

    Jakob

Old link is probably because I cut and paste and old Meetup then update the links once Meetup creates them, I have to publish s Meetup to get a number, then go back and correct it, this event had three Meetup associated with it so I probably missed correcting one of them or made the correction and didn't hit update.

Saul I have to bow out on Saturday. A serious shoulder/neck issue is preventing me from participating this weekend. I can't raise my arm, much less paddle for a couple hours. I am very disappointed!
