IMPORTANT - If you have not filled out your profile information in the Sea Kayak Meetup information please do so. We need this to be assured that the group is competent to meet the challenges of this paddle.  For safety reasons we will not accept anyone whose profile information does not assure us that they have the necessary skills. Failure to have a completely filled out profile can cause you to be dropped from the paddle.

AND AS USUAL - All my paddles are one strike you're out... I will monitor the site up to 3 hours before we launch for cancellations. (for this paddle the cut off will be Wednesday before the paddle unless an emergency happens) But if we launch and I haven't heard from you that is a no show and you will no longer be welcome on my trips. Please don't sign up unless you really think you can attend. It isn't fair for the other paddlers. As usual, I will manage the trip numbers based on extra organizers and the paddle experience of the people who sign up. So jump on the waiting list because I frequently up the attendees. Thanks.

I added the wind forecast and it looks wonderful for paddling. We still need a volunteer to bring one more cook set for the weekend. Looks like I will have to bring my own animal meat to add to the meals...I can do that....See u Friday morning..... Let me know if you have any questions. Bring a VHF radio if you have one.

Besides the peanut allergies, are there any other food allergies/intolerances/lifestyle restrictions we all should know about for food planning purposes?

    June 2, 2014

    • Lara

Audra is gluten free and Lara doesn't eat cows.

      June 2, 2014

  • Amy

Excited to meet you all and share this adventure! Peanuts and peanut sauce make me feel sick (not like an allergy emergency - just can't eat them) so I can leave sauce off mine. I will figure out food to contribute too.

    I can bring:
fish tacos: corn tortillas, cabbage for slaw,
    need fish, sesame oil,
phad thai: tofu, peanut sauce, rice noodles
    need veggies,
pots and pans, 1 small stove, post ideas then we can put them into the above meals

    Carpool anyone?

I see no mention of food yet. Will we be packing our own this time? Oh nevermind, T and Lara will be there -- we'll be living off of the sea and land -- lots of clams, oysters and mushrooms.

I sent a note to the island caretaker about the trip because they have a 10 person limit. I upped the paddle to 10 because I have Lara and some pretty experienced paddlers. I don't know if I will up the limit again. I won't make any adds until next weekend to see if anyone drops first. Remember, the last day is a around a 13 mile paddle so be sure you can go the distance.

    May 23, 2014

    • Cheryl C

OK, Larry, please be sure and bring your tow line so you can tow me the last few miles ;-)

  • Amy

I would love to be on this trip! I was filling out my profile and it disappeared. "Where have you paddled" answer was supposed to say all over Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties, around Bainbridge, expeditions in the Bunsbees and Kyuquot and Desolation Sounds and the Sea of Cortez, across Georgia Strait marathons, the SF Bay area, Todos Santos, Lake Superior, various lakes, Dead Man's Cove. Have been wanting to tour Vendovi. It sounds like a very fun adventure!
