Tuesday July 22 - Kirkland Paddle for those that have their own kayaks

Description: We will paddle in Kirkland on  Lake Washington

It's Summer, the weather is supposed to be nice , it's time for a paddle.

As discussed earlier with the cost of maintaining the gear, I am starting to post events separated into the ones where people borrow gear (I'll charge $10 for those) and ones where people have their own gear (those will remain free).

Lets meet for a  paddle on Lake Washington and the slough. This trip will depend on the weather. We’ll meet at Houghton Beach Park  at 6:30pm for a 60-90 minute evening paddle.

Schedule:

6:15-6:30 find parking

6:30-6:45 carry kayaks to the beach

6:45-8:00 - paddle

8:00-8:15 carry kayaks back to the trailer

8:30 -Dinner at Beach House Grill

This trip is for those that  have your own kayak:

The water is warmer this time of year and it's frequently windy, our launch and route is fairly sheltered but we still need to use our heads and our equipment. . If you are signing up in this meetup, I am assuming that you have your own kayak, if you need to borrow, then sign up in the other event.

Rating: This trip is rated ‘protected’ or SK1. A wet suit or dry suit is optional.

What to bring: [*]Kayak, paddle, Paddle Float and Bilge Pump. [*]PFD,

Clothes for paddling, something that will keep you warm if damp, Kayak Shoes, [*]Change of clothes for after, towel. [*]Rain Hat [*]Lights - at least one white light e.g. headlamp (not a strobe or flashing light) to be mounted on the kayak on worn on the person. Cyalume lights work great because they still work when wet. Fasten them to your kayak with duct tape. [*]Perhaps a power bar or dried figs to munch on. [*]Sense of Humor and fun.

Having just moved here I haven't had a chance to take my kayak out and can't seem to locate all of my equipment, including my tie-downs. I apologize for missing my first meet up with this group!

I will not be able to join the team tonight; WSDOT is working to replace some expansion joints on the bridge between Mercer Island and Bellevue, a big lane closure is scheduled for July 18 – 25. I hope all you live and work on the east side! See you soon.

Why was I asked to pay if I have my own kayak?

If you were then I set the event up incorrectly and will issue refunds and correct the setup when I get home tonight

It looks like the event was set up correctly and it shows no record of you paying, and neither does PayPal
