I'd like to paddle some of the sloughs in the area, but am game for almost anything.
We have three favorites to date. Hope Island in the south sound is our most frequented destination. We did a week long circumnavigation of Orcas Island several years ago and really would like to go back. My current favorite spot is Ross Lake in the Northern Cascades. We've done two week long trips in the last few years to this area.
I would rate us as intermediate. We've both taken basic paddling and rescue courses. We've done a fair amount of long distance travel requiring tide planning and good navigation skills. We do not roll yet.
Hope Island, Cypress Island, Commencement Bay, Orcas Island, Blake Island, Henderson Inlet, Nisqually Reach, Lake Union, Lake Sammamish, Wilderness Lake and Ross Lake.
My name is Eric and my wife is Sara. We live in the Maple Valley area and are looking for events and people to paddle with.
Great group with a wide range of experience levels. Generally pretty easy going while providing a safe and sane kayaking experience.
