New Meetup: Mecer Island Circumnavigation

Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Area Sea Kayaking Meetup Group!

What: Mecer Island Circumnavigation

When: Monday, July 5,[masked]:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

It sounds like we're going to have good weather on Monday. What a better way to end a holiday weekend.

This trip is a day-long paddle around Mercer Island. Total distance is about 15 miles and will probably involve 5 hours of paddling. We will start and finish at Enatai Beach Park in Bellevue. We will stop at Groveland Park, Seward Park or Clarke Beach Park, for lunch.

Rating: This trip is rated ?semi-exposed? or SK2. The route is susceptible to winds out of the North or South (I will change our plan if winds are forecast greater than 15 knots). Participants must have their own kayak and all of their own gear. Because of the water temperature a wet suit or dry suit is required. Paddlers must have experience with paddling long distances at a steady 3mph in windy conditions.
See descriptions at this link:
