New Meetup: Sammamish River Paddle, Sunday 22nd.

From: Martin
Sent on: Thursday, February 19, 2009 7:17 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Area Sea Kayaking Meetup Group!

What: Sammamish River Paddle

When: February 22,[masked]:30 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: This trip is for people who want to do a day long paddle. We will start at Marymoor Park in Redmond and paddle to Logboom Park, a distance of about 13 miles. We will paddle for about 5 hours with a stop at Wilmot Gateway park for lunch. We'll probably meet up with Saul's group and there is the option of attending his BBQ.

Car Shuttle: We will be organizing a car shuttle ahead of time. A vehicle which can carry 5 kayaks will be left at Logboom Park so that people and kayaks can be ferried back to the put-in at Marymoor Park. Depending on how many people want to come I might be asking for more volunteers to help with the car shuttle.

Rating: This trip is rated ?protected? or SK1+. Participants must have their own kayak and all of their own gear. Because of the water temperature a wet suit or dry suit is required. Paddlers must have experience with paddling long distances at a steady 3mph.
