If you KNOW U R Gonna be in the water for a long time, I suggest a THICK wool sweater. Thickness keeps the dry gortex off your skin allowing the air to insulate. That's what I wear when I KNOW I'll B IN  the water more than OUT when I play in DP and practice rescues.

Be sure to wear your fleece under the dry suit for the warmth part. The dry suit keeps you dry, the clothing underneath gives you the warmth!

And remember!  Have warm clothes and a couple towels waiting for you at the car!!

Please come to these sessions prepaired to get wet.  You cannot learn to exit a capsized kayak without getting wet.  You cannot learn how to rescue yourself without getting wet.  You cannot learn how to be rescued by someone else without getting wet.

See the trend here - You WILL get wet.

Also the lake will still be in the low 50's for temperature.  You'll be more comfortable if you're wearing a dry suit.
