Optimizing Google Analytics for SEO’s

Frequently, when SEOs (Search Engine Optimization practitioners) implement Google Analytics (GA), we do so with a myopic focus on SEO-specific indicators. The implementation is frequently badly flawed and often handicaps GA from delivering meaningful, actionable insights for the web site overall.

Caleb Whitmore will present some examples of these flawed implementations and help us SEOs understand what we’re missing, and how we can optimize GA to deliver more value to our clients.

Plan for a 45- to 60-minute presentation with Q&A. Be sure to bring your analytics questions for Caleb.

If you'd like some of the food & drink, we ask for a donation of $5-10. Please RSVP so we get enough for you!

This presentation is recommended for attendees with some experience in and knowledge of the basic concepts of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), web analytics, and specifically, Google Analytics (GA).

About our presenter:

Very Informative! I enjoyed it. Did anyone capture the couple ways to find out if your analytics code was installed incorrectly? I seemed to have missed one part in my notes. :-)

Hi Meredith. We use the paid version of Screaming Frog to ensure the code is present on all pages, then have a process to audit GA implementation, meaning we setup filters, 6-12 custom segments, custom alerts, Event codes for conversion tracking, etc etc.

This is going to be a fairly high-level talk, Caleb is a Wizard with GA, and can really help you develop your "A-Game". The more knowledge and experience you have, the more you will get out of this presentation.
