Tool Library Visioning Meeting

Have you ever needed a tool for one quick and simple project, and didn't want to buy it? Or what about a tool that you just can't afford or don't have space for? Tool Library to the rescue! Join us as we plan to build our own tool library in Capitol Hill! We need your help to make it happen!

We've submitted a grant proposal, but there's still plenty more to do! Please see the below document for the topics we'll be covering.

If you can't make it to the meeting and are wondering how you can help out, keep these things in mind:

We are accepting tools. People can bring tools to the meeting or email me to set up an exchange.

We are planning our presence at the Farmer's Market this summer. So if you can think of any activities we can do like sharpening tools, demo fixing broken stuff (e.g. vacuums, small appliances), or spinning wool let us know.

We'd love to have you join us with your ideas and your energy! Spread the word!

Please meet us at Braeburn 1410 E. Pine St. There are two doors, so make sure you go to the 1410 door, where you can get buzzed in (there will be a sign at the door) with instructions.)

Has the urban homesteaders thought about having an arts and crafts library as well? Tools such as ice cream makers, brewing supplies, dehydrators, and soap molds are the first craft tools that come to my mind. What are people's on this idea?

In terms of the Capitol Hill Tool Library, we are definitely planning on having these types of items. Ice cream maker is on our list, as is dehydrator, and I was just thinking a wort chiller would be a great addition. By tools, we don't just mean table saws and hammers. We mean all of these things.
