Backyard Barter and Community Meal

  • Jul 13, 2013 · 4:00 PM

We are offering a BackYard Barter and Community Meal.

4:00- 5:30 Barter (You might need to bring a table to put your wares on)
5:30 Tour
6:00 COmmunity Meal (bring a potluck dish marked with the ingredients and BYOB)
After dinner we usually sit by the fire and tell stories, play music or whatever folks feel inspired to do. You are encouraged to bring drums or other instruments. Sometimes things go late but it depends on the energy.

People who are interested should email me directly at [masked]

We do not put our address on the internet. We are 15 minutes outside of the city of Snohomish.

I think it is really important that people know where and when the Meetup are being held right when you announce them.

Due to transportation issues, I will NEVER commit to a posted event unless at least the CITY is announced. I too am a group owner/organizer of 6+ years but know that people have logistical constraints. Therefore, THANKS Jirius for your comment. I wholeheartedly agree. Also, this is a GREEN GROUP so to speak and many folks do the GREEN THING & only ride the bus. How are supposed to know if there is a bus route near there if there is not address. Thanks!!! :)))

The event is at my private residence which I do not post on websites. I do this in the best interest of my family and children. This is not entirely uncommon as I have been doing this this way for many years. While others may be comfortable with posting their address and other such personal information to the public we are not. We have had people drop in unannounced for tours and have worse. I am the admin on other Meet-ups and know that you, Jurius, and I are the only ones who have got the request for the location, unless your settings are different.

With a simple explanation, people understand.

I extended an invitation in good will. I thought it would be fun and nice to meet folks. My intentions were good.

I already know that it is at your private residence. But, please take a look below at the confusion that was created. I know your intentions are good, but not posting an address is still confusing & less likely to that people will come. I have events at my home & post the address all the time. People have not come unannounced & if they did, I would ask them to leave & call me first! That is just plain inconsiderate. I do not think the solution to the few people that just show up is to hide your address. Let those people who are inconsiderate suffer, not everybody else.

Gee, everything cost, whether it be money or something else.... since Jirius Isaac wants it to be "free" then maybe he should HOST the potluck! (giggle)

They want to do it on their property, they just did not put where it was. I have had to potlucks here already.

I think it is good that you don't always have a location, 'cause sometimes a place becomes available when someone is willing to host ....

I would love to come but will probably be out of town that date. Will you be hosting these once a month? I hope so.
