MARCH AGAINST MONSANTO - March for Our Food

If you eat food, this should matter to you. Please join me for this important rally. THIS IS A CRUCIAL ISSUE FOR ALL AMERICANS AND COULD BE A TIPPING POINT TO GET SEATTLE TO WAKE UP AND VOTE YES ON I-522 FOR LABELING OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS (GMOs) IN NOVEMBER!! Details on the entire rally are below.

**Our group will meet at 12:15 outside the Egyptian Theater at 805 E Pine St. in Capital Hill (between Broadway & Harvard Ave), walk to Cal Anderson Park at 12:30 and join the rally already in progress, before the march at 2:00. If you're late, you may not find us. I will NOT be updating or checking this page throughout the day.

**MAKE A SIGN, SANDWICH BOARD OR BANNER TO CARRY.** (If I can schedule a sign making event a few days before hand, I will, but no guarantees on that.) The march goes through downtown Seattle and ends at The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Why there, you ask. Because The Gates Foundation has aligned itself with Monsanto, pushing Monsanto's genetically modified crops in developing countries (with disastrous effects in many cases, such as in India) and The Gates Foundation holds half a million shared of Monsanto stock. Many do not believe Gates is the "savior" some seem to think he is.

PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT ATTENDING AND UPDATE YOUR RSVP IF YOUR PLANS CHANGE.

UPDATE - THIS IS NOW **SELF-HOSTED**. I have emailed Jurius twice to ask for access to change the listing details but have heard nothing back. Despite this being an international event & the Seattle version being posted on FB for at least a month w/1000+ signed up, the Seattle organizer cancelled it. It is being reorganized now by another group, a few days after the cancellation. The details are here https://www.facebook.com/events/... ALSO, there is an event in Olympia https://www.facebook.com/events/... I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PLANNING, CANCELLING OR REORGANIZING OF THE EVENTS. Oly projects 800+ and hopefully Seattle will regain the many lost when the event was simply deleted from FB. I will be at one of them but THIS IS NOW SELF-HOSTED. Pls do not kill the messenger, I have had enough snarky comments for the week around this mess. PLS DO ATTEND ONE OR THE OTHER ON YOU OWN, AS THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CAUSE. Peace out.

Seriously, why do keep reiterating this?? Once again, Rob, I will reinterate it WAS confirmed...it was on FB for more than a month before I posted it on MU, with 500+ ppl signed up, the city permits were purchased, the entertainment was lined up, as far as I knew speakers and other enviro groups were being lined up to participate...all the details I posted were from the event page. It was linked with the Biosafety Alliance, a national organization out of CA that was promoting various city's events for this national march. There was nothing more I could do to confirm it was a "go" and I had no idea 1 of the 3 organizers would unilaterally decide to cancel it.

Rob, I have emailed Jurius again to ask him to give me access to do the necessary updates on this page and email the yes RSVPs here with info on the Olympia rally if ppl want to attend that one. I have been in touch with the Olympia rally organizer and know that is a go. You have made your point, REPEATEDLY...drop it and stop beating up on ppl trying to spread the word on a worthy cause.
