Hometown: Tokyo, yes I was born here.

I want to get involved with my wife in preserving knowledge of premodern survival in preparation for a smooth transition to a postmodern future. We plan to get involved during holidays and on weekends during research leaves.
I like traveling with a purpose, singing from the heart, climbing trees, riding horses, and feeding animals. Unfortunately, my work as an academician (which I also like) usually keeps me from these things.
Tokyo and Bellevue. Usually Tokyo. Eventually just Bellevue.
I understand how water works, how we can catch it, why we should minimize our catch, and where prospects are best for future flow as the planet dries up.

My name is Mark and I love to climb trees. I care about water (see my blog, waterliteracy.net) and our future survival, as well as our wonderful waning livelihood traditions. BTW, I live in Tokyo, but Bellevue's my permanent home.
