I'm excited to announce our next special guest speaker is Cole Nussbaumer.

Cole will offer a condensed overview of the main lessons she covers in her storytelling with data workshop. During the hour, she'll discuss data visualization and storytelling with data best practices and demonstrate the power of effective displays in visual communication by applying the lessons to a real world example. Bring your enthusiasm and questions!

Doors at 6:30, speaker at 7.

Big thanks to our venue host and sponsor this month: Qumulo

Cole will also be holding a workshop in Seattle; there are still a few slots free.

Individuals can sign up for Cole’s highly regarded storytelling with data workshop in Seattle on March 5th. If you ever find yourself needing to communicate something to someone using data, this workshop is for you. Whether you're an analyst crunching numbers, a manager needing to communicate in a data-driven way, or a leader responsible for presentations to your board or other stakeholders, this workshop will give you the tools to tell more effective stories with data. Thanks to everyone who attended, asked great questions, said hi, and generally made this an excellent event. Cole had a great time, and sent some links and resources, which I've pasted into the event description above. The same information has been sent to the mailing list:

The event was fun & educational. Cole is a great presenter. Especially liked the emphasis on removing clutter and the reminder of different ways to show relationships. And the emphasis on talking to your specific audience in ways useful to them. Lots of good points. More organizations should attend her workshops.

Thanks to Qumulo for hosting and pizza. Good space and good food.

I have quite a few colleagues I'd like to bring. Any chance we can get a larger venue?

Natalie, this is the venue we've got for this event. Maybe you could arrange a private training for your team? Or send people to her public workshop?
