Holy crappola! We're two years old! That's right, it's been two years since we first gathered around a worn cafe table, cracked our notebooks and laptops, ignored the music and chatter and GOT WRITING DONE. Let's celebrate.
Who should come?
The usual suspects. People that have come just once or twice. People who joined our meet-up but have never been able to actually show up. People who used to come. People that like free food. People we meet on the street that say clever things. The person you're dating/sleeping with/sharing a bank account with/finally friended on the face book. Dave Sedaris.
What will we do?
Eat. Drink. Play writing games. There may even be a scrabble board opened up somewhere.Where will it be?
Kelsye's house - in glamorous Edmonds! We'll be flipping on the fireplace, dusting off the cat and bringing out the "good" paper plates to make you feel welcome. It's not too far to drive. Carpool. Stop whining. It's time you got out of the city anyway. What should you bring?
Nothing. But, if you are moved, bring food or drinks. This is not optional for Nancy. The things she makes are too delicious. We'll have plenty of paper and pens for the writing games, but bring your own if you're that way. Kids?
You make the call. This is a party for grown-ups where drinks and dirty minds may collide in public ways. So, they might be bored out of their skins. But, if your kid is a baby, we can just wrap them tightly in sparkle wrapping and use them as a centerpiece (it's not mean, they don't know). If they're older, they can always retreat to the kids' rooms upstairs. We also have xbox with kinect and playstation in a media room. Best. Babysitter. Ever.
AND, if you do know Dave Sedaris personally, please bring him. Same goes for Chuck Palahniuk, Sir Mix a Lot or Tom Skerritt. But no Katy Perry. We haven't been on speaking terms lately.
