Mattt Thompson (NSHipster / AFNetworking) @ WeWork

  • Apr 10, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Hey Seattle iOS Devs!

We’ve been a little quiet for the past month, but we’re coming in strong with new events for this Spring.

First up, coming April 10th we have Mattt Thompson coming to join us @ WeWork. Mattt is arguably both the most prolific and revered open source contributor in the iOS space today, and we are thrilled to be hosting him!

Mattt is an engineer at Panic, and the creator & maintainer of AFNetworking and other popular open-source projects, including Postgres.appHelios, & Nomad. He also writes about obscure & overlooked parts of Cocoa on NSHipster.

Mattt has spoken at dozens of conferences and meetups across the United States and around the world, about topics in Objective-C, Ruby, Javascript, web development, design, linguistics, and philosophy. Notably, this includes an appearance at WWDC 2013 for the session "Hidden Gems in Cocoa and Cocoa Touch".

Mattt has also appeared as a guest on TechCrunch TV, as well as podcasts like The Changelog and NSBrief.

This one is going to be amazing guys, be sure to sign up now to get a place. Space will be limited.

We've got lots of future events in the works - keep tuned!

Here are mattt's slides from the talk. If you missed the talk, definitely check them out!! It was a great & refreshing presentation! If NSConf releases his video, we'll post that as well. Cheers.

This one's killing me, but reality stepped in to say "no way you can get there in time..." Sorry! This is an awesome event!

Just changed my reservation to not going. Been battling a bad cold the last two days. My wife, an infectious disease nurse, is frowning on me going out in public. Drat.

Tough decision for me to finally decide to skip this one but there's another meetup on CI for Xcode projects simultaneously. Great if both meetup groups (iOS Seattle and Seattle Xcoders) merged, picked different days :-(

Can you solve this riddle? Can you suggest a type of open source program that allows an Iphone to send text to a RF transponder IC that passes the text to an MCU with only 32x4 bit display ram? (The MCU also has 4K x 16 OTP ROM). See you tonight!
