Since it's Year of the Horse (Pony) - I thought it might be fun to invade Chinatown during the festivities to ring in the new. We could dress in cosplay, have some food (several restaurants are having $2 tasting deals) and enjoy the festivities. Wow that crowd was really dense in there. I'm not sure how much we could have done to keep people together. We ran across some fans outside of the meetup group to some very mixed results, but it was nice to see. We also passed a pinball museum that we'll have to visit sometime.
I intended (and failed) to make Taiyaki for the meetup/s, so fortunately I caught sight of a stand selling some. My Uguu Powers were running low and I needed a refill. They were overpriced, but I simply can't help myself.

I've been to the Pinball Museum and will confirm that it's pretty sweet.
much riceso Asianwow
Fun to see that I tend to skip out on the samplers and make regular orders from a couple of restaurants being familiar enough with what they offer.
Now, to be hopelessly idealistic about a GPS system to let everyone know where everyone is when we go to more chaotic meetups like these!

We did end up going. I'm sorry we didn't actually meetup.

Lots of fun! Had some great food!

Is everyone still meeting at a certain spot. Or are we just trying to find each other?
I have no idea where people are, we could try to meet up near the Pink Gorilla store. It isn't very busy there.
Gummi & I are near Pink Gorrila at Yummy House Bakery! The cream puffs are HUGE!!!
We'll hop over to Pink Gorilla
Has anyone found each other yet? If so where is the group?
I am currently in line at the kings bbq house next to yummy house bakery.
We waited 30 at Pink Gorilla, and are now back at Uwajimaya shopping for last stamps/red envelope
You prob want to text Jon Sokol since he was with the "mane group." I'm already back at Jigsaw prepping for the planning meetup.
Goodluck finding another brony in this crowd. this place is PACKED!
Husband isn't feeling to well. We might trying coming a bit later
Don't forget to print out your maps and menus everypony!

Last time I went to one of these they had some made up to hand out. I wouldn't worry about it.

that's good I don't have a printer or a computer.
Not to be left out, we'll also head over to Kinokuniya to check out what merch they have in stock. I've seen a good mix of uncommon stuff there. I actually bought my 4DE Twilight Sparkle from them.
Someone asked about where to meet. The location says "Hing Hay Park." It's not a huge area and there's a prominent red arch with benches underneath that seems like a reasonable place to find each other. Here's a picture I grabbed from Google street view: http://imgur.com/UYnMYzX
Did somepony say hay? I'm in.
Is anyone taking the bus?

Someone likes to live dangerously...
I'm in the same boat. I'm as of this moment a fan of Denver for two reasons: they're not the Seahawks, and if they win, I won't have to hear about handegg for another six months.

Eh... football is pretty boring to me, but some people really enjoy it and people like to talk about things they're passionate about. We do it too! (And that's okay. :) )

No need for vitriol here. I just think its the logical choice for theme and timing.
I didn't really take anything here as vitriol. All I was saying was that not everyone has the same entertainment / hobbies! If someone really likes football, that seems fine to me.
I was just saying that in my case it was more a ridiculous idea than a mean one.
Funny thing... if you buy 5 of the $2 street foods (Including $2 boba and crepes), you get entered into a drawing for an autographed Seahawks jersey... Or a free round-trip airfare to Asia (To go see Osaka Jack & the other Japan bronies?)
https://www.facebook.c... is posting up to the minute info on all the new additions to this event.
I'm still getting over a sinus/cold thing and trying to figure out if I will be well enough to attend. Is there a plan for where people are meeting?
I know I'm technically the event host (or was) but something unexpected has come up and I can't make it any longer. Hope everyone has a great time! :)

Oh that's too bad. I was hoping to make something special for it too. I suppose I'll take the event host baton.
Aw, I was hoping to meet you. Your avatar is just so cute! Maybe another meetup, then.
Really its 2.5 the 4 month old doesn't really count does she?

I should have scheduled last year's Dragon Fest (something I'll make sure happens this year). I ended up meeting a bunch of fans down there. The costume contest for that one actually did feature some great MLP outfits. It was supposed to be anime-focused, but they didn't seem to exclude western games/animation and there were even a few pony finalists.
Anyway, I'd like to come in something interesting although I don't know what I'd have in time. I might just throw on my school spirit gear.

Hmmm, yeah! I'd like this!

I like your Woona picture! :D
1 · January 17, 2014
Hmm, I haven't brought out the Pinkie Pie cosplay in awhile!
1 · January 16, 2014
Yeah, I'll try to make this. Should be fun!
0 · January 15, 2014
Hmm... maybe. Unfortunately, I have 0 pony costumes, but it still could be fun. (And it's close to where I live.)
Looks like you need 2 more RSPVs before this gets an official announcement? I can do 50% of that even though I'm only 80% on attending. (I think it rounds up.)

You don't have to come in costume.
