Pony Pub Crawl (Season 3 "Prep"!) (21+)

Season 3 of MLP:FiM has been announced for November 10, 7 AM Pacific. THIS CALLS FOR A CELEBRATION!

The last pub crawl we had (Link here!: http://www.meetup.com/Bronies-SeaTac/events/68638872/ ) covered mostly downtown and a bit of Cap hill, hit places almost entirely during their happy hours, and was a great little group of 13 people. I'm proposing a slight shift in stomping ground, to the Belltown and Queen Anne areas, home of a LOT of great bars, with decent drinks and cheap eats.

I'm suggesting a start at the illustrious 5 Point Cafe, at the corner of 5th and Denny, for their cheap eats. THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE. I strongly encourage folks to help work out the schedule, suggest spots, research happy hour times, buck apples, however you care to contribute. My only requirements are food at some early juncture, as that helps keep the booze where it should be.

This should go without saying, but no minors. It's okay if you're of age and just want to go to eat and hang out, there will be no pressuring to drink if it's not your thing.

Expect spontaneous singing, needlessly loud conversation, funny looks by other bar patrons, plenty of walking (please bring shoes good for this), and requiring yourself to watch the new episode a few times for it to stick in your moderately hungover brain.

ITINERARY AS OF CURRENT:

5 Point Cafe - 415 Cedar St - 4 PM to 5:30 PM

Initial meeting space, hence extended time. Domestics and micros are 2 and 3 bucks respectively, and food specials are AMAZING. Burger and fries for 2.50. LOAD UP ON FOOD HERE.

Amber -[masked]st Ave - 6 to 7:15

Time for a walk, kids! It's about 8 blocks off from the 5 point, but the rest of our night's gonna be around this area. Bit of a different atmosphere, and drinks aren't CRAZY cheap, but, uh, 4 dollar flatbread pizzas. Come on.

Umi Sake House -[masked]st Ave - 7:15 to 8:30

Right next door? Cool, I'm up for short trips. It's a bit different, as it is a VERY japanese place, and the food is a BIT pricey, but it should be getting cold by this time, and hot sake can warm you right up.

See Sound Lounge - 115 Blanchard St - 9 to 10:15

Still standing, buddy? Good, good. Next stop's a little trendy, but hey, we're hip. Fruity, fun drinks on the happy hour menu, no idea what vittles look like. Vodka Red Bulls are on the menu, don't overdo it.

Super fun again, glad we were able to cram ourselves into most of the locations, hope we can get together another pub crawl soon.

By all that is within the night sky... I hurt. Princess Luna kicked me in the gut, hard. I regret nothing, save for the taste of Sambuca.

Started off great, first two stops were awesome! Definitely should do it in an area people are more familiar with, the "8 block" hike we took kinda killed the mood (and my buzz). But overall I love hanging out with bronies and can't wait to do it again!

  • Talryk

Thinking I'll just park close to the 5 point for consistency, even though I won't be there until 6:30ish

    November 9, 2012

    • Flips S.

The other planned stops are right next to each other, so might be better off parking down that way.

      November 9, 2012

  • Talryk

Somepony be sure to keep me updated on when the herd moves! I'll be late some, gotta keep tabs!

    November 9, 2012

If you're coming up for this, DRESS WARM. It's looking to be a balls cold day, and alcohol only makes you FEEL warm. Don't risk catching something nasty.

This sounds awesome. Time wise works with me, I'll just leave right after work. For the 10 to end spot, how about White Horse? Its a small pub, but irony?

    October 29, 2012

    • Jonathan S.

We could make it better by dressing as white horses.

      October 29, 2012

    • Flips S.

Good suggestion, though a bit of a slog from our area of operations. I am a bit concerned with 16 people in tow, we don't wanna take any of these places over or nothin'.

      October 30, 2012

  • burningNoodles

good news every one! my parents are out for the weekend!
we could have the after party at my house and u can crash here too!

    October 29, 2012

  • Tanner C.

I'd like to go, but i'd need to know where it'll be around 7pm, since that's about the earliest i'll be able to get anywhere.

    October 19, 2012

    • Flips S.

Hey remember that thing I said? We'll be at the Umi Sake house around 7.

      October 28, 2012

    • Tanner C.

Awesome. Yeah, i should be able to hop on a bus and meet you guys there right around when you'll be walking over.

      October 29, 2012

4pm is way too early for me, but I can stop in later in the evening.

    October 28, 2012

*SQUEE* I just got my schedule for that week, and not only do I have friday off entirely, but I don't have to work till 12 on Saturday. Count me in!

  • Master C.

I would love to come up from Portland to join in on this, but it all comes down to finding a place to crash once things wind down.

*Sigh* Curses on my retail schedule, there's no way I could get this off, being this late in the season. Maybe next time :/

    October 18, 2012

    • Flips S.

If you can make it later, we'll have a schedule rolling soon. Can drop in as you please.

what do you think would be the best way to manage transportation from tacoma? bus or something?

    October 18, 2012

    • Flips S.

Bus would work just fine. The 594 runs from Tacoma Dome Station every half hour for a good long while, and parking at the station itself is free.

      October 21, 2012

  • Master C.

This might make for a fun night before the premier, just a matter of getting up to Seattle and finding a place to stay the night.

    October 18, 2012

  • Talryk

Pony pub crawl day before my premier party? This barpony is quite alright with this. I'll have to see if I can manage, I'll have lots of winding down from my New Zealand trip to do.

Not a huge drinker myself, though I do enjoy an occasional hard cider or Mikes. This sounds like lots of fun. I will definitely try and get in on this
