It may just be the easiest gift giving you've ever done -have a drink, give a book!

Please don't bring any books, as they're way too expensive to ship. Room to Read has their own publishing... to print books in local languages, written & illustrated by local authors & artists... for as little as $1 per book! - Buy a beer & it covers 4 books!

    Hi all,

Beers for Books is next week! We have folks from a few other meetup groups attending as well. We'll be in the back room at King's Hardware. We'll have Meetup signs on a table or two, but if you can't find us, swing by the Room to Read information table. You won't be able to miss it, and one of our volunteers will be able to point you to where the Meetup groups are.

Looking forward to meeting you next Wednesday!

Just to clarify... you can't buy beer with books. It's the other way around, for every beer you buy, the proceeds fund books for kids in 10 countries that Room to Read operates. For example, one $4 beer pays for 4 local-language children's books, produced by Room to Read's own local language publishing group... using local in-country authors and artists to develop and present the stories. (Please don't bring books to the event, as the expense to ship them overseas is prohibitive.) - thanks!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
