First-time Beginners - QUICK TIPS

While we love to see new folks learning to ski or ride, the Meetup ski events are not the right format for first-time beginners. Folks attending these events may be of varying ability levels... but if you want a positive first-time learning experience, we DEFINITELY suggest signing up for ski/snowboard school.

Go on a nice/warm day, dress in layers, maybe get rentals someplace in town the night before so you don't have to deal with rentals crowd at the resort, give yourself plenty of extra time.

Last year(s), Stevens had a deal that if you buy 3? lessons, you got a free season pass for rest of year... ask them for any package lessons. - If you can go on a weekday vs weekend, you can sometimes be the only student in a group lesson... so you get a "Private" for the price of a 'group' lesson.

Everything gets less expensive (per trip) once you're "hooked" and buy your own equipment (watch for ski swaps early season) and a season pass (buy in ~April/the spring for next year & it may include spring days for free).

Watch for our monthly meetings in Kirkland to meet some folks & in-person tips. - Good luck!
