February 17: Model GLEDA the contortionist!

The Academy of Burlesque is proud to present Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School: Join us for a Historic evening of drinking, drawing and debauchery at Julia’s on Broadway!

SUNDAY February 17, 6pm to 9pm (doors at 5:30), (SEATTLE, WA) — Dr.Sketchy combs Seattle for the most dazzling burlesque dancers, the most bizarre circus performers, and the most rippling hunks of boylesque. Then, on the 3rd Sunday every month, we let you draw them for three hours. Interspersed with posing are ridiculous drawing contests where you can win prizes! Hosted by Ernie Von Schmaltz. Happy Hour Menu provided by Julia’s on Broadway.

Dr Sketchy’s starts at 6. Get Tickets at Brown Paper Tickets to have your seat reserved! http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/322128

February’s extraordinary burlesque model is Gleda.

Born in Massachusettes and spent time growing up between Florence and the east coast, Gleda has proven to be a rarity in form and function. Gleda is working as a Medicinal Scientist in Seattle, but for fun she has found herself enjoying aerial silks, contortion, burlesque with the Urban Bombshells and Burning Hearts, stage kittening, refereeing Jello Wrestling, and fitness modelling. During Gleda’s off time she can be found frequenting horror conventions and events.

Photos of this event will be taken exclusively by Mandy McGee.

My first time at Dr. Sketchy. Cramped space. Poor sight lines. The model couldn't seem to sit still, even for the shortest poses. She was dressed in black clothes (she did take things off as she did more poses) and was posing in front of a black curtain. I actually starting sketching the other attendees instead of her.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
