What is your figure drawing experience and what would you like from a figure drawing meetup?

None. In art classes as a teenager, I only worked with inanimate objects. Since I love drawing people, I want to learn more about the human form from observation and actively sketching.

What are your passions?

In life, I'm an animal lover, especially bunnies. I also love Neil Gaiman, esp his graphic novels, sci-fi shows, and storytelling. In the art world, I love realism, symbolic still-lifes, and portraits (real person and fictional characters )

Do you have a current art project? Idea? Do you need help with it?

I began transferring an old drawing to a canvas months ago but as I went, I realized how many mistakes I made in the form when I first drew it. I'd like to keep it my own project but I'd like to bring what I learn from the meetup home with me to finish it.

What types of art materials/mediums do you like to work with?

I typically sketch with a common teacher-approved #2 pencil and go over it with ink. When I used to have time in my life, I worked with acrylic paints and recently discovered I'm bad with oils and need to learn oil techniques or relearn how to paint in general.

Besides Figure Drawing - What Hobbies/Interests do you have?

Besides what I listed in "passions"... coffee?

Introduction

Hello! An email from meetup caught me just in time before I signed up for $200-something figure drawing classes through SAM! I've been drawing since I was 2 but put it down a few years ago for "adult" things, like work and college. Going to be rusty!
