Seattle Flickrites September Meetup: Alki Beach Stroll & Contest

Join us as Seattle Flickrites take to the beach in one last, desperate attempt to catch some sunshine before the dark, heavy, oppressive cloud of winter descends over Puget Sound once again! (how's that for a setup?)

We will begin our afternoon with lunch at the Celtic Swell, an Irish pub next to the beach...then we'll head off on foot to the east, walking off the Guinness and shepard's pie for a mile and a half until we get to the point, where we can take beauty shots of Seattle across Elliott Bay.

This will be a pretty casual meetup...a little food and drink and a nice walk in the sunshine. And along the way, an opportunity for fame/notoriety in our first Flickrites Photo Contest.

PHOTO CONTEST
This meetup, we'll kick off our first photo contest. Participants in the meetup will upload their one choice for their own best photo from the meetup to a new group called Seattle Flickrites September Contest (http://www.flickr.com.... Our three judges will choose a winner, along with two runners-up. The winning shots will be posted here on Meetup as well as on Flickr. See below for details.

JUDGES NEEDED
We would also like to solicit three members to become judges in our first photo contest. If you'd be interested in judging, please email Eric Weaver at [masked]. You would not be able to participate in this contest, but it might be fun to collaborate with fellow members to choose the best shot from the meetup.

CONTEST RULES
- One shot per contestant, posted to the Seattle Flickrites September Contest pool at http://www.flickr.com... by MIDNIGHT, 9/16.

- Subject matter can be anything, anyone, but must be taken on location during our photostroll on 9/16.

- Entries will be judged on originality, cropping, lighting and subject matter.
