Re: [photo-492] Group Closing

I've never made it to an event, either (mainly because I'm new and haven't been around very long) but I, too, would like to see it move to a different (ie. free) location. I'd be happy to switch over to Yahoo, and their groups are very easy to moderate/navigate. So, if we decide to go that route, I'm in!

As for the November studio shoot/workshop, I'm definitely in on that one, as well. Great idea and count me in for my cut of the costs.

It's quite possible to set up a Yahoo group, requiring no fees, yet has
online reading (or email) capabilities - and also a photo album for
displaying images.   If the interest is there, it could be continued,
just in a different location.  I don't believe it would be a massive
undertaking to moderate (since the posts on the existing group are
relatively few).  If there is interest, I'd be happy to help lead the
way on this one...

With the rain and dreary days of winter fast approaching, maybe if we
planned ahead (early Nov?) we could coordinate a one day workshop (with
pot-luck lunch) in a rented studio, and the cost of attending  be based
on the studio rental fee for the day/half-day divided by number of
attendees?  Were we to have things prepared in advance, i.e. 2 hours
photographing drinks, 2 hours for icecream (ok, fake ice cream), etc..
It would require advanced planning (since kitchen access might be
non-existant) but I think it'd be GREAT fun to do!

Miko - there is a studio in Pioneer Square called F-Stop, which rents
studio space and has (i believe) multiple studio environments from which
to choose.

Anyone interested in moving to a no-cost Yahoo group and possible winter
workshop?
