Westside Game Club

What a book club is to discussion of literature, this event is to discussion of game design. Every month, we agree to play one game, then meet to discuss and analyze its design and presentation.

To participate:
1. Sign up for the event. Spots will be limited to make sure discussion remains focused and productive.
2. Purchase the agreed-upon game. To make sure anyone can participate, we'll try to keep club games to $10 or less and focus on Steam, web, or mobile.
3. Play the game. Pick it apart. Take notes!
4. Attend the event (very important!). We'll discuss our individual impressions and insights, and hopefully come away better and wiser game creators.

Note: When you attend, your RSVP fee will be refunded!

This month's game will be Risk of Rain, (Steam, $9.99).

You cancelled with more than 24 hours notice. So, you should be able to get your fee back. :D

Steam has 4-packs for the price of 3 for Risk of Rain, useful if there's enough interest.

Also, why is there a refundable $10 fee for the meetup?

There's a fee to RSVP to encourage people to show up. With a small meeting like this it's important that people follow through when they RSVP "Yes". Last minute cancellations often go unfilled and a discussion between four people is productive while a discussion between two is not.
