The inspiration for the potluck is the 2005 movie “The Mistress of Spices” which is set in India and stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Dylan McDermott and Nitin Ganatra.   It's a foodie movie.  Quote from the film  “Each day has a special spice to it.”

    -- Please bring your own serving spoons or forks. I don't have extra ones. QFC located at 10116 NE 8th St in Bellevue stocks them.
    -- The dinner kicks off at 7:00 pm but please don't stress if you're running a few minutes late. We understand that Friday night traffic can be challenging. Please drive safely.

    For those looking at transportation options, buses that travel from Seattle to Bellevue are available. For example, I believe the #550 leaves almost every half hour early in the evening. There are several other routes.

    If the remaining people can bring salad and dessert we will have a full menu. For salad diced tomatoes, cucumber, red onions with a little lemon juice and salt/pepper/chaat masala should work. For dessert maybe someone can pick up kulfi or gulab jamun from an Indian store.

    I am confused...I was volunteered for beer/beverages. I can either bring imported beer or bbq meatballs. I rather bring one or the other, both would be too costly. Sounds like you guys need Chai/Milk too. I don't have a Costco membership, so I would not be able to buy the Chai; however I can buy 1 gallon of milk and some beer. Also, If I can not locate the Kingfisher will a Domestic beer be suitable?
