We will read chapters 6-9 Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson next week. The book is available for free online. You can also buy a physical copy at bookstores like Amazon. The Mises Institute has a profile of Hazlitt.
For next week, please review the lesson. Please read the lesson applied to any two of the four chapters listed below (chapters 6-9). I also suggest the following activities for each chapter:
1. Summarize the application of the lesson in a couple short sentences.
2. Find a phrase, sentence or paragraph from this chapter you may wish to quote later.
3. Focus on a part of the lesson that created the strongest reaction in you. Form a statement that best conveys this reaction to others.
4. Focus on a part of the lesson that confused you or with which you disagree. Try and form a lucid question that will help further your understanding.
If you have time, may I also suggest you bring in a news article, opinion column or blog post of personal interest. We will attempt to apply the lesson to the data presented in the piece.
We will meet next Wednesday the 25th at 7pm. The location is the Sports Lounge on the 2nd floor of the Arbor Place Tower condominiums. The address is 121 Vine St, Seattle Wa, 98121. It is on the SW corner of 2nd and Vine Street in Belltown.
Please contact me with any questions.
Look forward to seeing you there!
