The Libertarian Party of Washington has a booth and needs help - if you can work a shift, pls call Michael Wilson at 360-866-1738 or eMail <michaelhwilson@q .com>. These booths (especially Hempfest events) are a lot of fun - people are fun and mellow - few are angry about anything. Even if you are not a pro-cannabis person, every libertarian is anti-prohibition, right? You talk to a lot of people, answer questions, hand out lollipops, etc. Easy, peasy. Need help from set-up (before the 11am Sat opening) to take-down (after 6pm Sun). Call or eMail Michael now!

Note from Rachel of LPWA - "I am posting this for the 17y/o young man who is organizing it. It may have some value, and I am personally uncomfortable with the religiousness of the group. It is not an event that is sponsored by LPWA, but I'm letting you know because I admire the initiative and spirit of the Eagle Scout who's doing it." Hello, my name is Josuha Petersen, I am 17 and an active Boy Scout in the Maple Valley area. For my Eagle Scout project, I am hosting a Making of America seminar by the National Center for Constitutional Studies (NCCS). They are a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization. It will be an amazing opportunity to learn with the best, from the best and of the best. This seminar will introduce the 28 Principles of Liberty taught in popular book The 5,000 Year Leap. It will be at the Black Diamond community center on the morning of August 8th. Tell your friends, family and associates, I hope to see you there! The seminar will cost $15 per person - paid in advance ($10 for the 135pg study guide required by the NCCS, and $5 for rental fees). The seminar is on August 8th and will start at 8:30 sharp and end at 4:30. There will be a 45 minute lunch break, so you will be responsible for bringing or buying your own lunch. The seminar is broken into two segments, so don't miss out if you can only attend part of the seminar. Find all the info here - You need to register with him! http://www.wix.com/c onstitutionalseminar /usa http://www.nccs.net/ The presenting organization

Yes, we have air conditioning, and food! Otherwise, it's standard stuff - getting the newsletter ready to go. I'd appreciate your help, if you can make it. RSVPs are good, but not necessary. See you Wednesday evening!

Liberty Activists! We need your help this Saturday from 10 to 11:30 am! Congressman Adam Smith (WA-9) will be hosting a town hall meeting at the Milgard Family Hope Center in Lakewood. The topic will be healthcare. I spoke with an assistant of his, and she said that Congressman Smith has yet to make up his mind on the issue. Since he is a cosponsor of HR1207, he has shown that if constituents express their sentiments strongly enough, he may be willing to vote accordingly, although this is obviously not always the case (hence the bail-out, stimulus and cap&tax votes he gave us). Smith's assistant expects it to be packed, which should mean that groups advocating socialized healthcare will be there and prepared to push their agenda. It is important that every Campaign for Liberty member in Washington's 9th District attend the meeting and prepare a brief, intelligent, personal and compelling statement championing the Liberty position on the healthcare issue. If someone who goes before you makes your point, be prepared with back-up statements (I'm sure you will have plenty you'd like to say). When: This Saturday, July 25. Meeting starts at 10, be there at 9:30 to ensure you get a spot. The meeting is scheduled to end at 11:30. Where: The address for Milgard Family Hope Center is 10402 Kline St. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. Here is a map. Here is a photo of the building on their website. You Can RSVP here at the Pierce Liberty Campaign Meetup Group. Once again, please join our effort to oppose government-monopoly healthcare, and come prepared to make a statement! Finally, make sure you call Adam Smith's office right away and make your views known! Here is the number to his local office: (253) 593-6600. (Click here to see a map of the 9th District, which covers parts of King, Pierce and Thurston Counties.) In Liberty, Pete

King County Executive Candidates! We'll have some of them here. At least one of them is fairly Liberty minded. Come out and hear them - this is a really important race. I apologize - I keep having problems with Meetup.com. I delete things, and it puts them back, etc. Supper Club Meeting - This is the 3rd Wednesday of the month, and should continue to be. No host for dinner, regular menu. Bring your friends. They will do checks for every two or three people, so set that up as you order. As always, interesting conversations, good food, great speakers. See you there!
