The Seattle Meditation MeetUp is part of the Seattle Sophia Wisdom Center. We are dedicated to assisting anyone who is on their journey to be in direct relationship with that Universal Divine Energy that is called God.
The Sophia Wisdom Centers are spiritual schools and communities across the country that are dedicated to expanding consciousness, opening hearts with compassion, and helping others realize God within. Rooted in the Christian mystic tradition, we teach how to live a spiritually connected life in today’s modern world.

# Journey Into Christian Mysticism: Course 1 (April - May 2024 Session)
### About This Course:
Mystics are those who commit their lives to develop a direct experience of God and seek love-union with the Divine within themselves. This course will explore the heart of Mystical Christianity through teachings and practices. Participants will be invited to not only learn about this beautiful and boundless tradition but to develop their own mystical practices of meditation and contemplation.
Day/Time: Tuesdays at 6pm PST
Dates: April 23, 30 and May 7, May 14, 21, and 28

This course includes six live classes, hands-on exercises, meditations, and printable materials. We believe that it is an exceptional value at $200. However, our core values include accessibility, and we understand that some people cannot afford that amount, so we offer a self-selecting sliding scale. You may choose the amount that works for you. Teacher: Joanna O’Leary is a life-vowed minister. For many years she has been learning and deepening her commitment to grow spiritually with this mystical order. Being a part of a community that is wanting to know themselves and the God within, and to see the many ways God touches, challenges, and enriches our lives, has given her great joy and sense of peace. Serving as a minister and teacher with people seeking to grow spiritually, she has been able to share her love and commitment to serve. Since retiring from teaching in public and private schools for many years, she spends time volunteering with Veterans, hiking, kayaking and sharing adventures with her husband and family.
Teacher: Olivia Mahoney is grateful to be serving as a live-vowed minister/ teacher this life within a community of dedicated men and women. From within a long-standing family saga and crisis she perceived a crack finally large enough for Spirit to come in and work with her. It has been a road of beauty and the beast, seeing the glory behind the things that have always been frightening before looking deeper. With her hands more off the reins, she has learned to trust in the process that is unfolding. There is more of a flow now that invites a full experience of all parts of herself from a continually fresh perspective. Olivia lives in a busy part of Seattle, worked as a hospital nurse for more than 4 decades and has 2 adult children. Our body’s natural responses to crises can create deeply seated emotional patterns that make us feel trapped in unhealthy reactions to stress. In this course you will learn how to recognize and change the way your body and mind react to stress by identifying the core values and needs that underlie those reactions.
This course includes a cutting-edge model of the relationship between the sympathetic nervous system and emotional coping strategies created by Dr. Lucille Isadora Tures. This model is exclusively used in the course taught through Theama Institute. These courses are designed to be accessible to beginners however, due to the novel approach to the topic those with an in-depth understanding of trauma theory, polyvagal theory, non-violent communication, internal family system etc. may also benefit from this material.Class Dates & Time:
