Thanks Jay for putting this event together. I agree, some of the vendors did not make sense, but I understand that this event is still in the growing phase and I am sure it will get better with more support. I learned quite a bit and met some cool people.

There where things there that had very little to do with zombie day. 2*11? Xfinity? There are companies that would have been AWESOME. Remote Medical International is near Ballard. The Composting was good, The zombie t shirt booth was cool, the bee table was dope. The Thrive food was good. I have seen the Thrive people but all they ever let you sample is dried up corn... This guy had vegetarian taco meat and chips. Awesome. Never mind all the signs stating ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE GYM. Rebels... I love it.
Another cool thing is Fulcrum Communications will be here. They are fighting with the FCC to create a local community radio station. I am very interested in this non government communication during a crisis. Many questions.

Here's an update. Seattle Tilth will be at the event. They are THE urban farming specialists. They will have a master composter. Growing enough food on a small chunk of land is one of the biggest challenges of urban prepping opposed to rural prepping. It is possible if we join with neighbors, but more challenges in the winter. Stock up on dried food, MRE's and canned food.

Zombie Apocalypse Day is 100% free for all vendors and visitors. It is a community outreach with one thought in mind, "If your neighbors are not prepared, you are not prepared". Please spread the word to everyone in your community. Learn who is a doctor, who has power tools, military training, owns chickens, who is elderly and would need the most help. Can you sustain if everyone grows food in their limited space? The lives you save could be the ones you see out your front window.

For those of you on facebook. Go to Zombie Apocalypse Day and Like. This is linked to prepper sites around the country and useful information is often shared. Also, go to the event on that page for updates. We have quite a few more vendors coming. Thanks
Thank you Lanelle for representing the Red Cross. I am working hard to grow this event. The one request I have is to get the word out. In Seattle, no one is prepared if everyone is not prepared. I live in Ballard and all I see is 100+ unit buildings going up all over the place. If services fail, that is a lot of hungry people in my neighborhood. Please share this with all your neighbors. It is the key to urban preparedness.

There are a lot of FREE advertizing options... Most papers have a free community calendar both in print and online, ask area stores - especially local hardware stores if they would like to participate (earthquake straps, fire extinguishers, local pharmacy - first aid supplies) and allow flyers for the event? Have you asked the local fire dept too? Jay, I'd be happy to brain storm and help. Message me if you want with your phone number.

I've done most of this. Even sent my son door to door in the neighborhood with flyers. We had the fire department last year. The kids loved it. Feel free to text me. I work graveyard so I don't always rely right away. [masked]
