Burt Hamner is a cleantech mentor and consultant. He has advised governments in 16 countries on sustainable business and cleantech promotion. Burt founded Hydrovolts in Seattle in 2009 to make portable hydrokinetic turbines. By October 2012 he raised over $3M in angel investment and contest winnings, grew the staff to 11 people and a national network of partners and supporters, and launched the early commercialization of the company’s market-creating turbines. Under his leadership Hydrovolts was the 2009 winner of the national Clean Tech Open Sustainability Award, winner of the international Imagine H2O Water-Energy Nexus prize, and named an Artemis Top 50 water technology company, and a Global Innovator by Launch.Org. In May 2013 Hydrovolts was sold to one of its early investors and Burt launched a new company, Powered Plumbing, to produce a new micro-hydropower turbine to make renewable energy from water pipes.
I'm starting my second Seattle clean energy company (micro-hydropower in pipes) and am building a team, we need a Social Media manager and a product development manager!
