Come join fellow HYP folks in making a tangible difference in your community! This month, we will be helping out at the Habitat Southcenter Store on Saturday May 18th from 10:15am to 2pm! You'll work with a crew of volunteers to help accept furniture donations, organize shelves, and generally lend a helping hand. No experience necessary, just come meet the HYP crew and we'll take it from there!
The Southcenter Habitat ReStore is one of three Habitat operates in the area, and play a vital role in support of the continued building and repairs of homes for low incoming families in the region. Gently-used furniture, like-new appliances, and construction materials are donated at the stores. Proceeds are then funneled to Habitat for Humanity's affordable housing and repair projects in our neighborhoods. If you're looking for furniture, sometimes you can even find extremely unique, one-of-a-kind examples.
How to Sign Up
You must sign up through Habitat SKC's VolunteerHub page for this volunteer event - please see instructions below:- Go to http://hyp.seattle-habitat.volunteerhub.com/. Sign in or create a new account. When creating your account, enter “HYP” when it asks for your Join Code. The event may not show up if you do not enter the Join Code. You can also enter a Join Code at the top right menu.
- If you are creating a new account, complete the application, sign in, then go to the event schedule.
- Select a location and shift when you want to volunteer. For this month, look for "HYP -Southcenter Store - Half Day Morning" on May 18th.
- Review the site info, click “Sign-Up” at the bottom, accept the waiver, and you’re done!

Come join fellow HYP folks in making a tangible difference in your community! This June, we will be helping out at Habitat's construction site in the South Park neighborhood. And join us after for happy hour The Woods - Two Beers Tasting Room!
No construction experience necessary, we will bring you up to speed on all the tools and knowledge you need. HYP (Habitat Young Professionals) is a volunteer group within Habitat for Humanity Seattle King County. We are completely volunteer-driven, and host volunteer and social events at least once a month, so come meet the crew and make volunteering a regular part of your lifestyle!Site Description
Located in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle, this project will create 26 new 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath single-family residences built in 13 duplexes with off-street parking. This project will give 26 families a place to live in an area with high opportunity and is located near our other newly completed constructed development in South Park, and is just a block away from South Park Meadow, Marra-Desimone Park, and a local public school.How to Sign Up

Come join us for a casual happy hour at The Woods - Two Beers Brewing & Seattle Cider in Seattle! We have a earlier volunteer event in the day open to everyone as well. If you're curious about volunteering with Habitat or HYP, come hang out with other volunteers and members to learn more!
Since 2008, HYP Seattle has created fun and meaningful volunteer opportunities for hundreds of local young professionals and helped build over 30 homes in King County. Our monthly builds and happy hours are a great way for young professionals to make meaningful impacts in their local communities while having fun.
Come hang out with fellow like-minded folks, learn about our upcoming new construction, catch up with old friends or make new ones, and work with us to build a community of support for affordable housing in Seattle. No previous experience with Habitat needed, and our steering committee members would be happy to answer any questions you may have about what we do in the community.
