January WordPress Meetup - WordPress Multisite and The U.W.

We all know and love the simplicity of WordPress for running our own blog or basic site. But what about the more complex demands that WordPress delivers for a massive organization --like a university?

Mindy Messenger, content strategist for Marketing & Communications at the UW, will discuss the challenges and benefits of using WordPress multisite for 60+ sites at the UW. Plus she'll showcase some solutions her team has implemented to both manage sites of varying complexities and wrangle users of all skill levels.

As always, the Seattle WordPress Meetup is a free, non-judgemental place for people of any skill level, interest, or background to come and learn, share, and participate in our amazing WordPress community. We hope you'll join us this month for Mindy's presentation, then stick around for Q&A and networking.

Doors open at 6pm, things kick off at 6:30pm. Things usually wind down by around 8:30pm.

    Hi, everyone!

As promised, here is the editorial & accessibility (for content) checklist I mentioned during my presentation last week: https://www.washington.edu/marketing/files/2014/01/Editorial-accessibility-checklist.pdf

This checklist is only the most common mistakes we've seen our users make and it's not meant to be exhaustive.

Little disappointed that it wasn't more technical

Thanks Ian, I'll be sure to look out for that one. Mindy, your presentation was great, looks like exactly what we need to do and I got some great pointers based on your best practices. Will you be posting that doc checklist on this site also? I didn't catch your twitter handle.

My Twitter handle is @messemi. And I promise I will get that link to our checklist posted both here and on Twitter by Monday. :)

Thanks for the great presentation, Mindy! Really cool to see how UW is using WordPress Multisite and to see the code in your GitHub repos: https://github.com/uweb

Clarissa, so sorry I did not make it. Had a sick little guy that didn't want his Dad to leave. Email me at [masked] if you want to chat about woocommerce.

Hey all! Looking forward to joining the group tonight after being absent for over a year. I have an e-commerce client that I have been looking for a good dev to take over for some time. If you think you might be interested, please look me up tonight.
