The Messiah at Historic St. Anne's Church in Annapolis

Christmas season is always special because it features inspiring music that celebrates our cultural traditions and spiritual heritage that gives us hope for the whole year!  For over 250 years, Handel's Messiah has been a popular Christmas musical event which celebrates the rebirth, self-renewal, and power associated with the Christmas Story.

We're fortunate because we can experience the beauty of Handel's Messiah right here in Annapolis at St. Anne's Episcopal Church.  It's an impressive historic church located in the heart of town that's beautifully decorated and lit by candles for Christmas.  You can check out the details and purchase tickets here:

We'll attend the Sunday afternoon performance starting at 3:00 pm on December 22nd.  It typically features the best parts of Handel's Messiah, along with a sing-along of Christmas carols at the end. Parking is available in nearby city lots and on neighborhood streets.

Tickets are $40 and the seating is open. No advance reserved seats. Purchase your ticket and join us at Rams Head at 2:00 pm so we can walk one block over to St. Anne's to get decent seats together for the performance.

I hope to see you there!

What a beautiful way to experience Christmas away from the crowds and commercialism! Our group of fun people met at Rams Head and found a great pew in the center of the church for viewing the performance. It was an awesome Handel Messiah performance with the choir and chamber orchestra all sounding perfect. Afterward, they let us sing a few wonderful Christmas carols along with the choir. Very powerful! We all left feeling the real Christmas spirit, and we found some more by the fireplace the historic downstairs bar at Reynold's Tavern with a fireplace. Perfect. Thanks to all who attended for making this event a very special Christmas experience. Now, I'm in the mood...

A lovely way to start off the holiday. Picturesque Annapolis with great music, food (even with the suspicious bite out of my sandwich!), and good company. MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

Thank you, Jake, for the opportunity to see such an amazing concert and to meet a good group of people! The choral group, musician, venue, soloist were outstanding. Would definitely do it again next year.
Looking forward to tomorrow's caroling in Fells Point and a chance to dance the Polka.

This afternoon's musical experience captured the true meaning of Christmas, even more than the six car crash at the mall exit caused by those shopping for it. Thanks Jake for organizing the pre and post meeting spots.

No parking at the church. You'll need to find a spot on a side street or the Gotts Court city lot at 25 Northwest St. It's right across from the Ram's Head. Ram's Head is just a half block from the church, so it's the most convenient meeup place.
