Watch the Wednesday Evening Sailboat Race on Spa Creek

The weekly Annapolis Yacht Club sailboat race is a fun Spa Creek spectator event occurring every Wednesday evening during the summer. An impressive fleet of racing vessels will pass right by our Eastport vantage point that features a scenic backdrop of Annapolis. The race starts at 6:00 pm at the Annapolis Yacht Club and lasts about two hours, although it sometimes is canceled due to bad weather.

The race can be enjoyed inside from the bar at the Chart House or outside on the dock. The weather is always fine in the Chart House, so it's a good place for us to meetup and see what happens. We'll start inside by enjoying happy hour, and take it from there. I'll be at the Chart House bar area starting around 5:30 pm.

The bar area is open seating, so look for us or find a good spot where you can see the sailboats through the huge windows facing Spa Creek. From the Chart House, it's a pleasant stroll around Eastport to see the boats from the Spa Creek docks or Horn Point Park at the end of Chesapeake Ave. Walking around Eastport is always a good time! People usually gather at the Boatyard Bar & Grill following the race.

Details about the Wednesday Night Races are available on the Annapolis Yacht Club website:

I hope to see you there!

A nice happy hour at Chart House meeting several new folks. Then we went out on the dock and around to the overlook at Carrolls Creek to enjoy the sunset and a light rain. Afterward at the Boatyard was a great way to finish the evening. Thanks to all who attended.

Another nice night out in Annapolis, a short little misting resulted in a great double rainbow and beautiful sunset. Thanks for all of your efforts organizing Jake!
