UPDATE - THE MOVIE IS NOW SCHEDULED FOR 2:05 PM, SO WE WILL MEET UP AT 1:45 PM IN THE LOBBY
Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming’s James Bond in "Skyfall". According to the critics and audience reviews, it's the biggest and best Bond movie since Sean Connery was in prime form in "Goldfinger". In "Skyfall", Bond’s loyalty to M is tested when the past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. The movie and director Sam Mendes are already being mentioned as candidates for an Oscar next year.
To get the best cinematic experience, we should see "Skyfall" on a BIG screen with BIG sound effects.
The Rave Cinemas Fairfax Corner 14 has been showing "Skyfall" in its Xtreme theater which all has those features. It's not the true full IMAX experience (neither are most so-called IMAX theaters with smaller screens), but it should be thrilling nonetheless. Let's hope "Skyfall" is still playing on the big Xtreme screen this Sunday.
We're meeting up at 1:45 pm to buy our tickets, gather inside the lobby, and get seated in the theater by 2:00 pm. The movie starts at 2:05 pm. Movie schedules are subject to change, so check again on Sunday morning to be sure "Skyfall" is still showing at that time. I'll send out an email update if there are changes.
The Rave Fairfax Corner 14 theater is conveninenly located and has good free parking available. It's highly-rated on Yelp as a nice theater with good comfort, viewing, and pricing. I've been there many times and enjoyed it. Very spacious and clean with nice stadium seating...
Most importantly, it's not situated in a big mall filled with huge post-Thanksgiving shopping crowds concentrated in narrow corridors. There are nice stores at Fairfax Corner, but they aren't all clustered together. Let's hope for the best...
You can purchase an advance ticket online to be sure you'll have a seat. Full details, location, and online tickets are available here:
After the movie, we can check out one of the good restaurant/bars at Fairfax Corners. There are several fun places there to eat and drink, including Coastal Flats, Rio Grande Cafe, and P.F. Chang's.
Please call Jake at[masked] with any questions or if you need to find us.
I hope to see you there!
