Craving Filipino Food? Tayo ay Kumain! Let's Eat!

A home cooked Filipino meal with a few of my favorite dishes awaits you! You are going to experience a meal as it would be served in a Filipino household - family style, and all you can eat!

Dinner will consist of dishes that are often served during special events like feasts of Patron Saints or Christmas and birthdays, with a few twists of my own. I can't wait to do the shopping to find just the right ingredients for your dinner! Along with meat dishes, I will serve a simple vegetable dish to balance things out. Come hungry! There will be plenty of food! As with most of my parties, I like to invite guests to take home any leftovers! You might be so lucky! Bring your own Tupperware! :)

Menu Starter: Lumpia Shanghai with sweet chili dipping sauce (pork and vegetable egg rolls)

Main dishes: Pork and chicken adobo (my take of the quintessential Filipino pork and chicken stew)

Lechon kawali served with dipping sauces (roasted pork belly)

Pansit (my version of a noodle dish that is usually served for good luck and special occasions)

Sides: A simple vegetable dish; TBD

Of course, Jasmine rice

Dessert: Coconut flan

Coffee and tea

You are welcome to bring your own drinks!

About me: I am a self-styled home cook - I love to cook and I love to see people beam as they take that first bite! I learned to cook from my dad and mom. My dad used to, and still does, experiment with recipes; we were the guinea pigs and happy for it! My appreciation and interest in cooking came after I graduated from college. I didn't really start cooking real meals until I moved to Seattle from California! These days, you will always find me poring through recipes, talking to my dad about a dish, cooking something new or tried and true and taking a picture of it, and of course, posting it on Facebook!

Note from Organisers: Tickets are being promoted in a few places so even if this event looks a bit empty it probably isn't :)

I was looking through some old meetup groups that I hadn't been to in awhile, and found this old posting. Any chance someone wants to host another one?...I have always wanted to expand my Filipino culinary experience to something besides just lumpia (though I could eat a ton of it and be happy!)

Do you have a wine or two that you recommend with this amazing menu? I have some ideas but if you have a recommendation I would love it.

I'll bring a bottle of Prosecco. My PayPal account has become inactive because I haven't used it for so long. May I pay with cash when I arrive, or can I send you a check in the mail?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
