It was interesting. My only concern was that it focused on one viewpoint of historical Jesus inquiry. One view followed by Burton Mack, John Dominic Crossan and the Jesus Seminar sees Jesus as a Hellenistic figure. However, at least as many scholarly commentators see Jesus primarily as part of first century Judaism. I'm hoping that if the topic is explored further that all academic theories will be discussed.

This was a great introduction to the early Jesus movement and how it may have evolved, been understood and spread throughout the middle east and Mediterrarian region during the later years of the 1st century. I am looking to our next meeting.
Thanks Kieth for all your efforts in putting this information together and presenting it to the group.

I think this was a difficult scholarly subject that was handled well. The handouts really helped. It was interesting to learn the different sources that contributed to Christianity. Unfortunately, I can't make part two of this discussion in two weeks so I hope someone records it.
