Some of the stories, parables, and lessons in our religious texts are easy to understand or to follow -- they inspire and direct us to better our life and our world.
But some of our religious stories and lessons are hard, confusing, or to most sound just plain wrong.
Whattexts have been your "Difficult Gospels"? What stories, or what interpretations -- either from TheBible or another religious or non-religious textof meaning to you, did you find hard to follow, confusing to understand or, to all appearances, wrong?
And how have you learned to accommodate these "difficult gospels"?
SBS attendees, guided by moderator Frank Burton, will each take 5 minutes to recollect and share our own "Difficult Gospels" (from the Bible or our other meaningful texts) -- followed by discussion of our reactions to and perspectives on those texts.
What claims have you found it difficult to believe?
What parables have you found it difficult to interpret?
What paragons have you found it difficult to emulate?
What morals have you found it difficult to accept?
