Hi, all SBS Members! The SBS Organizing Committee would like to wish SBS members a happy holiday season and safe travels. SBS will not meetup on Dec. 28, but will meetup again on Jan 11, 2011, for our third conversation on the Book of Job -- this time, about its modern relevance. We're also looking into the status of the Trinity Church East Room, our past venue for 2 years, as the new post-merger church, Northeast United Methodist Church, plans which buildings on its Trinity Campus shall remain open or closed. So stay tuned for our next SBS Meetup announcement, which should be posted later this December! :)
Secular Bible Study is a joint effort between religious believers and atheists in the Twin Cities to study and discuss the Bible and Religion -- not to engender any specific religious or non-religious view, but to explore their historical context, societal impact and cultural relevance. SBS invites expert speakers to lecture on particular topics and lead discussions; and facilitates respectful and constructive reasoning dialogues between people of many different (or no) beliefs, providing the opportunity for folks who may deeply disagree to build relationships with one another.
