Hi Secular Hikers,
Weather permitting; there will be a snowshoe hike on Saturday, March 2nd in
Fox Run Park. We will be bushwhacking through the forest so we can stay on snow. This is a relatively easy snowshoe hike in Black Forest with some short steeper sections. We will be leaving from my house in Gleneagle and carpooling to the trailhead. (On Roller Coaster Road between Stella Drive and Baptist Road, not far away from Reveille Drive.) We will leave my home at 9:00 AM. Directions to my house are listed below.
There is currently enough snow in my backward to go snowshoeing. I am assuming that there is at least that much snow in Fox Run Park. Since most of the snow is in the shade in the forest, it should still be good on Saturday.
Please bring enough water for the hike. We will be done before lunch.
Please let me know if you plan on attending the snowshoe hike. If you change your mind, please let me know that also.
Travel north from Colorado Springs on Interstate 25 to exit 156A, North Gate Blvd. Take your first left (at the first traffic light and a double turn lane) onto the large and divided Struthers Road. Follow Struthers Road for about 1 mile, there is a large "Summer Glen Estates" sign on your right. Directly in front of the sign, turn right onto Falcons Nest Loop. Take the second right onto Scottsdale Drive, then your first left onto Sedona Drive. My house is at the end of the cul-de-sac, slightly on the right. 205 Sedona Drive. 594-4506.
