Thanks to Sukriti for inspiring this week's collective activity.
We thought we would practice mindful eating this week.
It seems that eating mindfully can be a serious challenge for many of us. It can become a very mechanical activity and we loose connection with the enjoyment of what we are eating. To help us better enjoy our food and to nurture mindful awareness in general, why not slow down while eating? Whenever you are eating, do the best you can to remember to take your time. Really taste what you are eating. Notice the smells and texture. Also, notice what happens in the mind. Is there an urge to rush ahead? Are there any emotions that come up while eating? In this practice we will try to take the time to enjoy what we are eating and to savor the entire experience.
