Sunday Assembly Planning Meeting

Have you heard about the Sunday Assembly from the UK ( Sunday Assembly is a global network of people who want to make the most of this one life we know we have and help everyone find and fulfill their full potential.

We have had a group working with the SA for the past few months but a clear leader has not emerged.  This meeting is to discuss the next phase of planning for a Sunday Assembly somewhere here in Denver / Boulder / Aurora area, starting first by identifying a lead. We'll provide a short history and then assess interest from meeting attendees.

The Secular Hub and the Grange in Broomfield are both locations that could be used to host SA shows so we already have a few good resources available.

If you cannot attend in person please leave a message on the Hub contact line at[masked] and we will arrange a call to accompany the meeting.

See you all then!

We already have a community center (the Hub), lots of groups with a diversity of programs (social gatherings, parties, lectures on science and ethics and more). I don't see what can be done under the Sunday Assembly brand that can't be done without it, and I don't see why anyone would want to pay to use the name and be required to have official Sunday Assembly approval for the programs. Also, because of the name this could easily be misconstrued as "atheist church," which is going to creep the crap out of a lot of atheists, as well as give ammo to people who claim that atheism is a religion. What we have is better than the Sunday Assembly.
