Platte River Spring Clean-up

Join your secular community members in making Denver a better place to live by volunteering with our Spring Clean-up along the Platte River. We're doing this in conjunction with Denver Parks and Recreation on Saturday morning, April 26th. It's a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the scenery along the river, while enjoying the friendship of other like-minded people.

After our short morning project we've been told lunch will be provided by the Denver Parks Department. You'll be welcome to stay and enjoy their lunch or you may choose to go to a nearby cafe on your own with other Hub members.

Details for the event are on the following flier:

Great weather, with a great group of people, and doing some much-needed manual labor... all for a very worthwhile cause. No complaints! (well, ok... having to wait for a bus wasn't great... but what the hell, still give this 5 stars)

Denver Parks set the start time. Please keep in mind that the registration goes from 7:00 - 7:30, so it's not necessary to be there at 7am sharp. I'd also guess that people who come later can still be a part of the cleanup.

I have changed my RSVP "no". I might be there, I might not. But I have a very specific question: who decided that 7 am was a good idea, and what was their reasoning? Can anyone answer this?

Sounds like a great project! I wish it didn't require getting up in (what is for me) the middle of the night. Tell them they should have a second, afternoon shift for this!

I'd like to attend this one, but I have another volunteer commitment every other Saturday. But I hope to do more of these types of events with the group.
