Apart from online groups, IRL in CO, let's see... I designed the Boulder Atheists logo by winning their design contest, and I served on the board of Colorado Citizens for Science as PR / media guy for a short time around 2004. Apparently they're defunct now, but the group was formed to combat creationism in local science education. We did a public educational event about evolution at the Museum of Nature and Science (I produced a cool looking poster), among other efforts. I was the only non-scientist board member. Excellent people, and I was fortunate to work with them, and wish I'd been able to do more. I met Eugenie Scott at some related convention at U.C. Berkeley once, that was big a highlight for me. David Eller and Vic Stenger were board members, and remain among my favorite (relevant) authors. I would join a Sunday Assembly if I didn't work Sundays. Lately, I don't have any real in-person secular community involvement, so here I am with this thing. This is Denver based, right?
I'm 45, never married, no kids, in Olde Town Arvada. In my 3rd year as an IT tech at a Black Hawk casino. Educated but not rich, I enjoy playing poker, finding good inexpensive wine, etc. Looking for community, creative adventure and ways to do good.
