GREEN LEADERSHIP AND WORLD LANGUAGES MAGNET ELEMENTARY

GREEN LEADERSHIP AND WORLD LANGUAGES MAGNET ELEMENTARY

Frances Worsham, Title Reading Intervention Teacher for grades 2 and 3, would love to have dog teams come and read with her second grade classes!!  This is the Green Road School location and has now become a Magnet Elementary on a traditional WCPSS school calendar.  Please go to their website greenes.wcpss.net for more interesting information regarding their program. This will be a very interesting and fun read event and I hope we will have good availability for this school to continue for the[masked] school year!!

Please make sure you have registered for the[masked] WCPSS school year as a volunteer as this must be done each school year.  As always, have your current proof of certification with you and remember you represent your certifying organization.

Please arrive 15 minutes or so early to meet and greet your fellow teams and go into the office to sign in.  The office staff will let us know where we need to meet, and for our first read, Frances Worsham will be there to greet us. We should be in and signed up and ready to read by 12:30 :-)

Thanks and I look forward to this opportunity for us all!!     Beth

GREEN LEADERSHIP AND WORLD LANGUAGES MAGNET ELEMENTARY: Very well! The media center is a much, much better venue than the classrooms -- quieter and less distracting. Plenty of room for our teams to spread out in our own areas. ~~~~~ The teachers regulate the students time with us now and it seems less hurried. Working together with one book, two students can actually complete a book in the time allowed! (I like to hear how the story ends. Garbo doesn't care, but I do!) ~~~~~ This school and their excellent reading coordinator have been super cooperative and responsive. All the teachers and staff are very welcoming and appreciative. ~~~~~ Nice facility; parking easy to find; location very convenient.

It was wonderful! Yesterday we had four!!! dog teams and the kids, as usual, were great. The teachers are supportive too. It was fun listening to the kids read and the kids enjoying interacting with the dogs. Always nice to see the other dog handlers and their canine companions too!! Frances does a great job of organizing everything! Great school!!

Great school with great kids. Truly an amazing time with the children, staff and volunteers! It brought back such great memories since all three of my girls attended that school and now one is in college and the other two are in high school. Would love to do it again and hope to see you all there! Happy Holidays!
